Thanksgiving is a time for gathering with loved ones and enjoying delicious, comforting food. One of the highlights of any Thanksgiving meal is, of course, the pie! If you’re looking to impress your guests with a classic dessert that embodies the spirit of the holiday, here’s a tried-and-true recipe for a perfect pumpkin pie that’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser.

Classic Pumpkin Pie Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 (15-ounce) can pure pumpkin puree
  • 1 (12-ounce) can evaporated milk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. Prepare the pie crust: Place your unbaked pie crust in a 9-inch pie plate. Crimp the edges as desired.

  3. Mix dry ingredients: In a small bowl, combine sugar, salt, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves.

  4. Beat eggs: In a large bowl, beat the eggs lightly.

  5. Combine pumpkin and sugar mixture: Stir in the pumpkin puree and sugar-spice mixture into the eggs.

  6. Add evaporated milk: Gradually stir in the evaporated milk until the mixture is smooth.

  7. Pour filling into crust: Pour the pumpkin filling into the prepared pie crust.

  8. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven at 425°F for 15 minutes. Then reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for 40 to 50 minutes, or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.

  9. Cool: Let the pie cool on a wire rack for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the filling to set.

  10. Serve: Top with whipped cream if desired and enjoy!

This pumpkin pie recipe is a timeless favorite that brings warmth and tradition to your Thanksgiving table. Whether you’re a seasoned baker or trying your hand at pie-making for the first time, this recipe is straightforward and yields delicious results every time.
